The best time to go to sleep is when you are feeling sleepy. When a person feels sleepy the first stage of the sleep cycle has already started and if you go to sleep immediately, you are likely to have a sound sleep for the rest of the night. If you resist going to sleep when you are feeling sleepy, then you may find it difficult to get sleep later.

Since the body repairs itself while a person is sleeping, having adequate sleep is important, especially if it is important to be mentally alert while doing your work. A person should go to sleep at the same time everyday, since the the body clock gets used to the usual routine. Children need more sleep, 8-12 hours daily, so they should go to sleep earlier.
